Which casual game has the biggest impression on you? More than any other, you can point to mobile gaming. On Google Play's Shot Factor game page, the only text you see is a short description. It reads: Use different mods to create your ultimate gun! That's it when it comes to tips, gameplay, story or characters. I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't more information given about this game when I saw that. I’m interested in Shot Factor simply because I want to understand what it seems like on the outside. That’s how I came to be a fan of the game.


Gameplay

A casual game is so lost that it doesn’t even care about the two reasons why people get bored. Instead, it focuses on 1-2 levels before becoming addicted. The game Shot Factor is a polar opposite to Factor, which is a pleasantly uncomplicated yet mind-bogglingly difficult puzzle game. Its minimalist art style makes it impossible to discern any meaning or purpose, yet its confusing premise drives players crazy and compels them to play more. Playing Shot Factor makes your very own firearm. It feels like a simulator, but it’s not. A table with minimalistic casual looks sits atop a gunstock model. Tools used to modify guns sit in the table's lower half. This set of tools takes on many forms depending on the function they serve. For example, the x1 square indicates that when attached to a firearm, it functions as a single-shot firearm. This block provides the 3x3 option for shooters. The barrel with a vortex symbol rotates to fire multiple rounds at once. The marker with a rectangular shape x3 can be set between vertical and horizontal positions. This allows bullets to move in a circular trajectory, hitting a large group of people at once. When you’ve created a firearm you like, the battle starts. In the first angle, you see your finished gun as you approach enemies on a linear path in front of you. At this time, your focus has shifted from gunsmithing to shooting. The game will give you bonuses for accuracy and speed. These bonuses increase the number of points that appear onscreen. Each point unlocks a new piece of equipment for your weapon. This equipment can be any one from the same category as the first item or a completely new one. The game will determine which piece to unlock based on the difficulty level, current scene and how many points you earned during that scene. This is the first time I’ve seen a game that incorporates a gun mod into its gameplay. It’s a completely unique experience, one that provides an entirely new sense of wonder. Adding stunning battle scenes between each scene of gun mod creation makes for an intensely fun game experience. ———
